Creative and Eco-Friendly Gift Wrap

I come from the school of thought that it is the thought that counts. The gift does not have to be expensive, but it should be thoughtful. What better way to show your thoughtfulness than putting a little extra care into the presentation. Pulling inspiration from elementary art class, I have put together two different gift wrap ideas that are completely recycled and scalable for any artistic level.

For both of these gift wrap activities you will start by wrapping your gift with a paper bag. I love wrapping presents in paper bags because it is thick and durable. Plus they are free!

Idea 1

Create a scene with your yarn scraps. Lightly sketch your design on the paperbag and then glue on strips of yarn to create your scene. I had a bunch of green and brown scraps so I decided to put together a evergreen Christmas tree.

Idea 2

Tear off small sections of an old magazine page and create a small tight ball. Glue the ball onto the paper bag to create a scene.  I am partial to stars, but since most magazines are mostly white, the paper lends itself nicely to snowflakes, snowmen, and other snow scenes.
